Prerequisites for the position:
- Certified dental assistant
- Two years experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent interpersonal skills to get along with patients and the dental team
The main priority of this position is patient care and duties related to that care. Description of minimum duties required in this position are:
- Clean and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments. 2. Escort patients to and from treatment areas.
- Expose and develop necessary dental images.
- Assist the doctor and/or the hygienist in patient care.
- Cooperate in lab quality control and monitoring of lab cases.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain inventory control within the inventory budget. 8. Update MSDS information in the OSHA book.
- Help with clerical work as time permits.
- Participate in practice marketing programs.
- Attendance at and participation in:
daily huddles and staff meetings,
practice management meetings as required and, CE courses required by the doctor.
- Routine clean-up of any area of the office.
Activities related to a full schedule are an important secondary duty of this position.
Position details:
- Pay for this position will be bi-weekly.
- Hours are as set by the schedule, however some deviations may occur and will be identified prior.
- Starting time is 20 minutes before the first scheduled appointment time. ! Ending time is after cleanup from the last patient of the day.
- Office uniforms and a neat professional appearance are required.
- As most of the work is performed within the dental treatment room, gloves, protective eyewear, and masks are required to prevent exposure to hazardous waste.
Sick time, vacation, and holidays are as defined in the office Policies and Procedures Manual.
